How To Use Dental Floss
04 Mayıs 2018

If it is used correctly, there are places where the toothbrush can not reach; i.e. the plaque food residues beneath the gum line and between the teeth can be removed by flossing. It is recommended that teeth be cleaned regularly with dental floss, as plaque buildup can lead to tooth decay and gum disease.

To get maximum benefit from the toothpaste, you can apply the following methods:

  • Take a dental floss of about forty centimeters, wrap a large portion of the thread around your middle fingers and leave a four or five centimeter line open for use · Gently move up and down between your teeth by holding the thread between the thumb and index fingers
  • Gently run the thread across all tooth surfaces and make sure that the thread crosses the gum line. Do not force the dental floss, otherwise sensitive gingival tissue may be cut or tissue scratched
  • Use clean areas of the dental floss when passing through the tooth to the tooth
  • To remove the thread, perform the same back and forth movement to move the thread up and out of your tooth

Which Type Should I Use?
There are two types of dental floss:

  • Nylon (or multifilament) floss
  • PTFE (single filament) thread

Nylon is sold with different flavors as dental floss, waxy and non-flammable. Because this dental floss type is made up of multiple nylon threads, it can especially be worn or torn between teeth with tight junctions. Even more expensive, the single-filament (PTFE) yarn slides more easily between teeth and is tear-resistant even between tightened teeth. If used correctly, both flosses are suitable for removing plaque and residues.

Take a thread of about 40 centimeters long and leave a distance of about four or five ntimeters in length.

Gently clean the curves of your teeth.

Try to clean the bottom of the gingival line, but be careful not to press on the gingiva.
